Ireland Part 2 : Sheila’s House
Posted on April 13, 2014
On our third and forth day’s in Ireland, we stayed in a town (our favorite) called Galway. Galway sits on the west coast of Ireland and is a charming little medieval town filled with tons of friendly people, traditional Irish music, lots of pubs and authentic restaurants, and a gorgeous river that flows through the town. We fell in love with Galway and I shed a few tears when we left. We met some amazing new friends who we plan to go back and visit and I even got myself a Claddagh ring.
Before we left for on our trip we booked our first 4 nights in Ireland. We found Sheila through airbnb.com and are SO glad we did. This was our FAVORITE place we stayed. We felt so cozy and so much more like a local. Sheila’s kitchen was the most amazing little space and her blue wood floor stole my heart. Her eclectic style reminded me a lot of my mom. Both mornings she made us fresh squeezed orange juice and filled her table with hot cross buns and other breakfast yums. In the evenings she would light a fire in the front room and her two cats were friendly as could be. Her front door was painted the prettiest of all the other doors on the block and the little park across the street felt so magical. I swear I saw a leprechaun running around in there when walking home one night! Should you ever find yourself in Galway, PLEASE do yourself a favor and ask me for Sheila’s contact info. You need to stay here!
